The San Antonio Spurs Are Thieves

God, please have mercy on The San Antonio Spurs' souls. The four-time NBA champion Spurs have violated God's Eighth Commandment "Thou Shalt Not Steal" at least three times: stealing Manu Ginobili with the 57th pick in the '99 NBA Draft's second round, stealing Tony Parker with the 28th pick in the 2001 NBA Draft's first round and stealing DeJuan Blair with the 37th pick in the 2009 NBA Draft's second round. Manu, Tony and, so far, Blair have been impact players and arguably the steals of their respective drafts. Maybe I'm jumping the gun here, but I wouldn't be surprised if all three players are someday Hall of Fame inductees. Maybe there should be an 11th Commandment: Great Basketball Players Shalt Not Be Drafted Low.

Passing on Manu, Tony and Blair in the NBA Draft? That's three no-no's. Stealing these players? That's also three no-no's. I'd say that's three wrist slaps to the Spurs and three head slaps each for the NBA teams that snubbed these guys. Satan must have whispered this command in the ears of Gregg Popovich & Company: "Go, Spurs, go steal some more." The Spurs and their fans have Satan leading the Spurs astray to thank for at least three of their four NBA titles.
