The glass is half full

Don't worry just yet. Nobody jump off the band wagon; we're at .500. See, the glass is half full. Like I said last time, it's going to be like this for a while. Tim and the older fellows are going to have a harder time rebounding physically to be ready for those back to backs. Remember waaaaayyy back in March, April and May when Roger Mason Jr was actually able to step in for Manu and we had another true point guard in George Hill? It took the better part of the year for those guys to get acclimatized. They still can't replace Ginobli or Tony Parker, but if #20 or #9 goes down, someone can feel comfortable stepping up. That didn't happen overnight. Finley came to the Spurs as a shooter. It took him an entire year before he felt at ease taking a shot instead of passing it. The good news is a lot of the guys are young, so they have less bad habits to break.
Yesterday, only game two (to calm all you worry worts), was a game of rebounding. They did and we didn't. That does come from young legs. All offense will never win. You must rebound and defend, ask Phoenix. They'll tell ya’, then again, maybe they won't. You know, the truth hurts. The Lakers (eeww I can't believe I said that) have always had a long roster. That helps with those weeks where you have five games inside a week. It also pays off in the post season when everyone else is running on empty and you have plenty left in the tank. This was a good measuring stick for the silver and black. Gives them a little better idea of what to work on. See, I told you the glass is half full.
